From the CEO
As we celebrate spring here at the Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange, I am pleased to say we are off to a
strong start in 2018. We are grateful for your support of THIE and with your partnership, we are able to
continue to grow and improve our services.
In fact with the help of your support THIE has expanded to Oklahoma, which will provide neighboring rural
hospitals with much needed insurance and risk management services. It's an exciting new opportunity and a
sign of the strength of our existing programs.
We've just wrapped up another successful Hot Topics forum in Lubbock. It was a wonderful opportunity--and
always one of my favorites-- to get to know you better and share our resources to help you create a safer
workplace and offer the best care to Texas communities.
I look forward to catching up with you at the TORCH Annual Conference next week and thank you
for your continued partnership.

The THIE team has spent the past few months visiting rural hospitals in Oklahoma to learn the needs of those facilities. Through these efforts, THIE has partnered with Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur,
an almost 60-year old institution that serves more than 12,000 patients annually.
When asked why the hospital decided to move its business to THIE, Administrator Jeremy Jones said, "Arbuckle Memorial Hospital is excited about our partnership with THIE. We believe strongly in customer
service and understanding the needs of your clients. THIE has proven to excel in both areas."
New Year, New Look
With exciting prospects on the horizon for 2018, THIE recently announced its new branding. As its service
area has expanded beyond Texas, THIE wanted to create a new look that encompasses over 40 years of
service to Texas hospitals and what THIE hopes to be for its new partner; a

The new tagline incorporates not only what THIE does, but what sets it apart from other insurance companies:

Three Ways to Reduce Worker's Comp Claims

1. Prevent workplace accidents. Create a safety program for your hospital that is tailor-made and includes the types of hazards that your employees face on a daily basis.
Commit to return-to-work. Develop a return-to-work program to get injured workers well and back on the job as soon as medically reasonable.
Fight workers' comp fraud. If you suspect an employee is committing fraud, look for red flags and feel free to contact THIE for advice.
