From the CEO’s Desk

As we celebrate spring here at the Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange, I am pleased to say we are off to a strong start in 2017. We are grateful for your support of THIE and with your partnership, we are able to continue to grow and improve our services to you.

At THIE, we want to make sure we keep our hospitals in the loop. Our subscriber statements were mailed out on March 15, which continue to show growing profit share for our subscribers, along with our Annual Report which is available to view online as well.

Our big news is that THIE has been licensed to expand our services into Oklahoma in 2017. It’s an exciting development and a sign of the strength of our existing programs. We’ve just wrapped up another successful Hot Topics forum in Lubbock. It was a wonderful opportunity – and always one of my favorites – to get to know you better and share our resources to help you create a safer workplace and offer the best care to Texas communities.

I look forward to catching up with you at the TORCH Annual Conference later this month and thank you for your continued partnership.

Taking THIE to New Frontiers

This spring, we received official word that THIE has been approved to expand into the Oklahoma insurance market. By expanding across state lines, we diversify the risk and potentially increase the profit of THIE subscribers. We will take our first steps to begin doing business with hospitals and health care facilities in Oklahoma by the end of this calendar year.

Lubbock Hot Topics Draws Crowd and Praise

Hot Topics Workshops

Participation in THIE’s Hot Topics Forums continues to grow each year, and our recent event in Lubbock, March 1-2, was no exception. More than 90 individuals representing 23 hospitals attended the event in Lubbock. We are proud that the forum drew praise not only for the information but also the company – and fun! –that come along with each of our Hot Topics forums.

We want to thank our speakers, our sponsors and everyone who attended. Hot Topics are a crucial part of the free risk management and education resources that we offer our subscribers and we hope to see you at the next one this fall. If you missed us in March, go to THIE’s new website to view the speaker presentations here. You’ll need your user login and password (if you do not have one, please contact rbabcock@thie.com).
