Lubbock Hot Topics Forum Draws Crowd
Participation in THIE’s Hot Topics Forums continues to grow each year, and our recent event in Lubbock was no exception. More than 90 individuals representing 28 hospitals turned out for two days of learning, networking and relaxing March 1-2.
Corey Owens, Rankin County Hospital District, summed up the feedback we heard from many of those in attendance: “I just wanted to tell you again what a great job you and your staff did with this event. It's very rare, at least for me, to find an event both informative, and enjoyable. You and your staff were so friendly and helpful....which goes a long way these days. I hope to see you again soon!”
Personal defense expert Jeff McKissick, president of Defense By Design, delivered one of the highlight sessions. Pictured above, McKissisk is a noted authority on the subjects of profiling and threat assessment. He presents continuing education seminars to the medical, insurance and other industries, to help them mitigate risks and liabilities associated with workplace violence. His mission is “to help you spot trouble ‘before’ trouble spots you.”
The always-popular golf outing that accompanies Hot Topics forums gave teams a chance to spend a beautiful day on the Rawls Golf Course with friends and colleagues. Among them were, from left, Robbie Dewberry, Mitchell County Hospital, Colorado City, and THIE board member; Brandy Cruz, Rankin County Hospital District, Rankin; and Christy Francis, Hemphill County Hospital District, Canadian.
