THIE Honors Rural Hospital Administrator

(Austin – November 2009) – The Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange congratulates Keith Butler, chief executive officer of Lillian M. Hudspeth Memorial Hospital in Sonora, who received the 2009 Texas Hospital Association Pioneer Award in November. The Pioneer Award, which is underwritten in part by THIE,  is THA’s annual award recognizing excellence in rural hospital management. Butler received the award at a luncheon held at the Texas Rural Health Forum on Nov. 10 in Austin.

Lillian M. Hudspeth Memorial Hospital is a 12-bed public hospital operated by the Sutton County Hospital District. During Butler’s eight-year tenure there, the hospital has grown from a struggling rural facility to a thriving and progressive health and wellness center for the community.
